FLY EXTERMINATOR TARGET PESTS

Scientific Names: Muscidifurax raptorellus, Muscidifurax zaraptor, & Spalangia cameroni

NATURE'S FLY CONTROL!

Our Fly Wranglers (A.K.A. Fly Exterminators) are a predator to 95% of flies, including house flies, lesser houseflies, horse flies, filth flies, bot flies, biting stable flies, and various other fly species.

Less complete on the false stable fly, face fly, flesh fly, and horn fly since these species complete their life cycle widely dispersed in pasture.

PEST FLY GUIDE
Knowing what's bugging your animals is the first step to solving the problem.

Horn Fly
A small biting fly that feeds on the horse's back, causing irritation and blood loss. It reproduces in undisturbed cow dung, so no cows, no horn flies.

House & Filth Fly
These flies are often found on your horse's face, attracted to the moisture in the eyes. While they don't bite, they can spread bacteria and parasites, posing health risks for horses.

Horse & Deer Fly
Large flies with powerful bites that cause extreme pain and blood loss. They breed in water and can travel long distances, increasing the chance of disease transmission.

Biting Stable Fly
A blood-feeding fly that targets the legs and belly, causing horses to twitch and stomp in discomfort. It also reproduces in spoiled hay, round bales, and decaying vegetation.

Bot Fly
Lays eggs in areas the horse can't reach with its mouth. The larvae burrow into the horse's mouth or stomach, causing irritation and potential digestive issues.

BENEFICAL NEMATODE TARGET PESTS

FLY WRANGLER APPLICATION

Releasing Fly Wranglers (A.K.A. Fly Exterminators) is a simple process. We also offer subscriptions so you can stay on top of the pest fly lifecycle.

INTRODUCTION SITES
You may see large number of flies around your animals, but the fly breeding area is most likely to be close to manure areas or other moist, rotting organic matter. These are the areas to release your Fly Wranglers.

Top priority introduction sites include:

  • Barns
  • Stables
  • Kennels
  • Chicken Coops
  • Feedlots
  • Animal Straw Bedding

Other potential introduction sites include:

  • Compost Piles
  • Garbage Cans
  • Septic Tanks
  • Near Water Sources (but not directly in water)

INTRODUCTION FREQUENCY
Introduce monthly during warm months. Heavy infestations may require additional releases.

HOW TO INTRODUCE FLY WRANGLERS (A.K.A. FLY EXTERMINATORS)

Keep Fly Wranglers indoors, in original packaging, and out of direct sunlight. Monitor daily for first signs of movement. Hatching may take 7-14 days, depending on temperature, with the Fly Wranglers beginning to hatch at 70°F. Pupae do not change in appearance after hatching. For optimal results, release within 24 hours of hatching. Wait until temperatures are consistently over 50°F before releasing. Fly Wranglers will self-distribute up to 100 yards.

    1. Locate fly breeding sites. Please see introduction sites above.
    2. Sprinkle Fly Wranglers near fly breeding sites and lightly cover to protect from birds and rodents OR sprinkle Fly Wranglers into hatching release bag and hang above the ground, away from birds and rodents.
    3. Introduce Fly Wranglers at other possible breeding sites.
    4. Introduce monthly during warm months.

      BENEFICIAL NEMATODE APPLICATION

Releasing Beneficial Nematodes in your garden or farm is a simple process. You can opt for a standard watering can or select from our range of application tools. Our hose-end sprayer or pump sprayer are ideal for applying nematodes.

      ACTIVATED NEMATODE STORAGE

Once activated, introduce within 1 hour. Store activated nematodes for no longer than 6 hours.

      HOSE-END SPRAYER INSTRUCTIONS

We've compiled detailed measurements for each of our hose-end sprayers.

      APPLICATION RESTRICTIONS

When applying beneficial nematodes, pressure should not exceed 72 PSI. Nozzle diameter must be 0.8mm or larger.

Use room temperature water and let nematodes sit for 15 minutes to allow powder to completely dissolve.

      3 EASY INTRODUCTION METHODS:
WATERING CAN, PUMP SPRAYER, OR HOSE-END SPRAYER
Nematodes are not a chemical, so their effectiveness will not be reduced by the amount of water used to create the release solution. Adjust the concentration of the solution based on the extent of the pest infestation and the size of area to be treated.
      • Introduce indoors at any time, or outdoors in the morning, evening, or on a cloudy day.
      • Avoid direct sunlight. Beneficial Nematodes are susceptible to UV light.

      WATERING CAN & PUMP SPRAYERS:

      PREPARE:
      • Moisten the soil to improve habitat. Keep soil moist for two weeks after application.
      • Avoid run-off.
      ACTIVATE:
      • Mix nematodes with 1-5 gallons of water (59-69°F) to cover the desired area.
      • Dilute to create volume needed for coverage of area.
      APPLY SOLUTION:
      • Introduce nematodes onto desired area. Don't be concerned if every inch isn't covered as these organisms will move throughout the soil.
      • Use within 6 hours of activation.
      WATER:
      • Water treated area immediately after application. Keep soil moist for two weeks. Avoid run-off.
      • Keep soil temperature between 44-86°F.

      HOSE-END SPRAYERS:

Remove filter if applicable. Walk slowly and evenly across the target area, making sure to cover the entire surface.

Use room temperature water and let nematodes sit for 15 minutes to allow powder to completely dissolve.

      INSTRUCTIONS:
      1. Add the appropriate amount of nematodes and water to reservoir.
      2. Attach the hose-end sprayer to the water source and turn on the water.
      3. Twist knob at the top of the hose-end sprayer to ON.
      4. Apply nematode mix to desired area.
